3.26.08 - Shamrock Showdown
AUF wants to thank all of its fans for supporting Lucas and Dinos in their fight March 14th.
The International Cage Fighting Alliance (ICFA) Hosted “Shamrock Showdown” on Friday March 14th at Screamin Willies in Columbus Ohio. A sold out crowd that dwarfed the previous event was there in support of our AUF fighters.
Representing the AUF was Lucas Christopher and Dinos Angelas.
 Lucas Christopher- was the third to last fight of the night. Lucas fought 2-0-0 Matt Anderson.
Round 1- Lucas and Matt are both strong wrestlers; Lucas was able to immediately take Matt to the ground with a big slam. Matt immediately was able to pull guard from the slam. Near the end of the round both fighters were able to get to their feet and throw missing uppercuts towards each other.
RND1- Lucas
Round 2- Both fighters swing and connect with punches. Matt attempts to take Lucas down and Lucas was able to sprawl and reverse the position only to have Matt front roll out of a bear hugg. Once again Matt attempts to take Lucas down to have Lucas sprawl, knee Matt a few times and take his back. Matt was able to reverse the position and throw punches to Lucas from inside the ½ guard. Lucas was able to reverse the position and stay in side control inside a guillotine. Round 2- to close to call
Round 3- Matt starts the round with head punches and Lucas immediately takes him to the ground; Matt reverses the position and works for a guillotine. Lucas was able to get out of the hold and throw punches and pass the guard and mount Matt. After 20 seconds of controlling with little action from the mount the referee stand the fighters up with one minute left in the round. Lucas was able to punch the mouth piece out of Matt and duck under a spinning back fist and spinning back kick attempt. Lucas tries for a single and Matt reverses while taking Lucas back. Matt goes for a rear naked choke attempt and finishes in the mount for the last 5 seconds of the fight. Round 3- Lucas, up until the last 20 seconds.
Decision- Matt Anderson: Unanimous Decision
 Dinos Angelas- The Main Event for the Middleweight ICFA Title was between Dinos and undefeated 6-0 Justin Edwards out of Bellfountain.
Round 1- Dinos immediately gets the double leg lifting Justin Edwards and slamming him on to the cage. The slam could be felt all through out the venue. Dinos immediately mounts and rains down punches. Justin turns belly down giving his back was able to stand up pull Dinos in to his guard. Justin tried a triangle attempt then a knee bar only to have Dinos transition out of the submission attempts and throw unanswered punches to Justin while taking his back. Once again Justin was able to stand up and take Dinos down with a head and arm throw. Dinos was able to reverse the position and throw bombs to Justin’s head from inside the guard. Near the end of the round Justin was able to keep his composure and sink in a triangle choke with a few seconds left. Round 1- Dinos
Round 2- Both fighters immediately clinch and begin to throw knees at each others mid section. Justin was able to tie Dinos up against the cage and throw unanswered knees and punches while setting up for a take down. Dinos reverses the take down and lands in Justin’s guard. Dinos able to pass to cross body on an arm bar attempt from Justin. Justin was able to get out of the mount again and pull guard. Dinos with unanswered punches to the body and head was able to find his way back to the mount.
Round 2- Dinos
Round 3- Both fighters start with punches landing hooks to each other. Justin attempts a guillotine and pulls Dinos in to his guard. Justin transitions in to a triangle. Dinos picks up Justin and slams him on his head only to find the triangle synched even deeper. Dinos was able to sneak his chin out and push his head out of the triangle and slides in to the mount. After multiple punches Justin was able to spin out and sink in a triangle with 10 seconds left to the fight.
Round 3- Dinos Decision- Dinos Angelas: Unanimous Decision
